7.6.5.1 — Maximum Temperature of Hot Water

(1) Except as provided in Sentences (2) and 7.6.5.3. (1), the maximum temperature of hot water supplied by fittings to fixtures in a residential occupancy shall not exceed 49°C.

(2) Sentence (1) does not apply to hot water supplied to installed dishwashers or clothes washers.

fixture

means a receptacle, plumbing appliance, apparatus or other device that discharges sewage or clear water waste, and includes a floor drain.

occupancy

means the use or intended use of a building or part of a building for the shelter or support of persons, animals or property.

residential occupancy

means an occupancy in which sleeping accommodation is provided to residents who are not harboured for the purpose of receiving special care or treatment and are not involuntarily detained and includes an occupancy in which sleeping accommodation is provided to residents of a retirement home.
