3.13.5.3 — Fire Detectors

(1) Except where the area is sprinklered, fire detectors shall be installed in every service room, ancillary space, leased space, booth and kiosk.

fire detector

means a device that detects a fire condition and automatically initiates an electrical signal to actuate an alert signal or alarm signal and includes heat detectors and smoke detectors.

service room

means a room provided in a building to contain equipment associated with building services.

sprinklered

means equipped with a system of automatic sprinklers.
