3.3.6.9 — Basements and Pits

(1) A process plant intended as a location where Class I and Class II liquids are handled shall not contain a basement or a covered pit.

basement

means one or more storeys of a building located below the first storey.

process plant

means an industrial occupancy where materials, including flammable liquids, combustible liquids or gases, are produced or used in a process.
