9.21.3.1 — Lining Materials

(1) Every masonry or concrete chimney shall have a lining of clay, concrete, firebrick or metal.

means a shaft that is primarily vertical and that encloses at least one flue for conducting flue gases to the outdoors.

masonry or concrete chimney

means a chimney of brick, stone, concrete or masonry units constructed on site.
